LOS ANGELES – Nov. 16, 2012 – IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX; TSX:IMX) and Twentieth Century Fox, a division of News Corp. (NASDAQ: NEWS), today announced that Life of Pi, Academy Award-winning director Ang Lee’s adaptation of writer Yann Martel’s beloved epic adventure of magical realism, will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® 3D format. The film will be released in a limited number of IMAX® digital theatres in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea and other international markets starting Nov. 22.

The IMAX release of Life of Pi will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX 3D Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
