Release Details

IMAX announced today that Fox's sci-fi actioner Prometheus generated $9.1 million of its $50 million domestic cume in IMAX over the weekend of June 8th. The film set a record in IMAX for biggest June domestic opening, and generated a per screen average of approximately $30,500.  Exit interviews of males under the age of 25 enjoyed the movie most, which is consistent with the IMAX core demographic. 

Internationally, the film grossed $3.0 million in IMAX screens over the three day weekend. Additional titles playing through the IMAX global theatre network contributed to the global box office for the three day weekend of approximately $14.1 million.

Global box office to date for Prometheus: An IMAX 3D Experience is approximately $14 million.
