LOS ANGELES – Nov. 7, 2012 – IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX; TSX:IMX) and Paramount Pictures, a division of Viacom (NASDAQ: VIA and VIAB), today announced that Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® 3D format and released to 14 IMAX® digital theatres in Japan, starting November 9.
The IMAX 3D release of Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

From the big top to the big screen, visionary filmmaker James Cameron and director Andrew Adamson (Shrek, Narnia) take audiences on an all new 3D adventure: Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away.   A young couple who is separated, must journey through the astonishing and dreamlike worlds of Cirque du Soleil to find each other, as audiences experience the immersive 3D technology that will allow them to leap, soar, swim and dance with the performers.
